We take our Corporate Social Responsibilities very seriously & are very proud to have achieved ISO 14001:2004 accreditation. Our main focus is on communities, environment, people, employment and Health & Safety

Communities

We support local communities in many ways as part of the work we undertake and feel it is a part of our corporate social responsibility to do so.

BSG are firm supporters of sport and sponsor a number of local youth football and cricket teams providing them with new equipment and kit, but more importantly an outlet for youngsters to focus their energy and learn valuable lessons in team work and leadership.

On each undertaking of work we seek to leave a lasting impression on the communities that welcome us. Supporting local initiatives and youth schemes to improve neighbourhoods and enrich lives.

Environment

BSG constantly reviews its environmental policy to ensure that as a responsible company it is always doing it’s upmost to help protect the environment and reduce the impact of its actions and remain in compliance with all legal requirements.

Our environmental policy is communicated company wide on induction and continues through ongoing training.

It is our policy to reduce, reuse and recycle waste wherever possible, using only materials from ethically maintained and sustainable sources as we continue to take proactive steps, both on behalf of our clients and within our own business.

At our Head Office site we have a licensed Waste Transfer Station, capable of sorting and segregating all waste cleanly, safely and legally.

People

People are our future and the key to continued growth as a business. Training opportunities, Health, Safety and the Welfare of staff are of paramount importance.

BSG operates an apprenticeship scheme and has well established relationships with local colleges and training providers. They are trained to nationally recognised standards across a variety of trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and scaffolding.

We continually assess our training needs and are currently looking at a new Apprenticeship Scheme developed specifically for Property Maintenance Companies.

Sister companies Lee Roofing Ltd and Lysander Scaffolding Ltd have been accredited with Investors in People with BSG Property Services Ltd committed to achieving IIP accreditation in the latter part of 2010.

Employment

Our thinking here is to promote the use of local labour actively recruiting skilled people under our local initiative scheme to improve the prospects of the area, knowing that the money earned will be used within the local community fuelling future economic growth.

Health & Safety

We have a very high regard for the Health, Safety and the Welfare of all employees, ensuring a safe working environment and safeguarding those who may be affected by our work activities.
