Decent homes

Decent Homes

The Government believes that everybody should have the opportunity to have a decent home (ie: a home that is “warm, weatherproof and has reasonably modern facilities”) and has set a target of 2010 to achieve this. In 1997 there were 2.1 million houses owned by local authorities and housing associations that did not meet the decent homes standard. (cited from www.communities.gov.uk)

BSG Property Services Ltd is actively engaged in the Decent Homes agenda and, indeed, this has accounted for much of our recent business growth. We work in partnership with RSLs to carry out works either on a project basis or by geographical area.

BSG’s skilled teams of full-time operatives have considerable experience in:
• Kitchens and bathrooms
Roofing
Gutters and uPVC fascias (aka Roofline)
• Painting and decorating
Drainage and groundworks
• Carpentry
• Electrical works (NICEIC approved)
• Plumbing services (CORGI registered)
• Central heating installations and servicing
Disabled Adaptations
Before commencing a job, we ask “What is the resident’s first language?” and, where necessary, we use translations specialists to provide literature (eg: programme details and timescales) for foreign-speaking tenants.

What’s more, our staff work with the greatest of respect to residents and their neighbourhood.

"BSG’s ability to work in occupied properties, particularly those with older tenants, is what sets them apart from most other medium-sized property services companies. The men and women on their staff understand the difference between someone’s home and a building site."

"RSLs are so often judged on tenant satisfaction. We trust BSG to undertake works for us to the standard our tenants have the right to expect, and as a result we look forward to our continued business partnership."
